Wait, what? You heard me: The Ark of the Covenant was a gift to the Israelites by . . . ancient astronauts. At least, that’s what the ancient astronauts theorists think. But they’re crazy, right? Ha! Probably, but it doesn’t make this clip any less fun to watch.
This video is from a History Channel series on ancient astronauts. I love this stuff, a guilty pleasure, but I love trying to listen past the HUGELY improbable leaps of logic that make me laugh out loud, and focus on those tantalizing edges of factual mystery. In this case, the age of the Money Pit, its seemingly impressive anachronistic construction, and the expedition led in the 90’s which suggests the possibility of something radioactive down there. These things are interesting enough, for me, without having to attach the Ark of the Covenant to the mystery of Oak Island. Still, it is an Ark of the Covenant legend, so I’ll go ahead and share it with you here.
