Fans of Abyss of Chaos will be delighted to learn that two sequels are on the way.
Today I’m publishing two blogs. The first is this announcement on the status of the trilogy. The second will be the first two chapters of The Philosopher’s Game.
The Philosopher’s Game (Book two in the Max Sinclair trilogy) grows stronger with each revision, but today marks the official start date of book three. I plan to have both books finished before releasing book two, and here’s why.
The Philosopher’s Game is bulging at the seams with story. And we’re not talking expository, tedious, set up-type stuff. We’re talking actual honest to goodness awesomeness, replete with twists and turns you won’t see coming.
Because this is the middle act of a trilogy, The Philosopher’s Game is doing a lot. It’s a bridge connecting two books, but it’s also its own story, independent of the other two. In fact, it’s a story that poses a number of genuinely puzzling philosophical problems set in front of humanity, but presents them in a fun (and at times spooky,) thrill ride. I’m confident you’ll have a hard time putting this one down.
To that end, I’ve written The Philosopher’s Game in a way that someone can enjoy it without having read Abyss of Chaos. But I’ve also given it one whopper of an ending that will definitely leave you clamoring for the third book. (Maybe those readers who started in the middle will go back and pick up a copy of Abyss of Chaos while they wait for book three.)
